The miracle of Life

seeds

“There are two ways to live your life:

One is as though nothing is a miracle.

The other is as though everything is a miracle.”

Albert Einstein

At this time of year I’m always amazed by seeds.  I saved some sweet corn last year that grew particularly well in my plot – but looking at the shriveled up, rock hard little kernels thought that there was no chance of them developing into anything at all.  Well blow me down, if they haven’t all come up – it’s such a miracle.  I keep looking at them in disbelief, how can lovely little plants come from something that looked so rotten and dead.

And I have to say the same about lettuce seed and tarragon – almost like planting a grain of sand – and then up pops this proud little green set of leaves, full of hope and ambition – so wonderful!

If you haven’t sown seeds yet this year – give it a go, I know it can be a bind and the plants are so readily available now.  But you are missing out on seeing a glimpse of magic – a small moment in life when you just think WOW!
