Wednesdays 10.30 – 12 8th June – 17th July
This is an online yoga class and is suitable for men and women of all ages and fitness levels. It’s best to set up 10 minutes before the class begins so that you can lay out your mat and set up your device. The Live Streaming always begins 15 minutes before the class begins. The online yoga classes are carefully designed for home practice, taking into consideration space restrictions and understandable instructions. The cost for 6 weeks of classes is £40.
First of all we will have a few minutes of breath awareness or other quiet practice so that we can get focused. We begin to move the body with a thorough warm up. Afterwards we explore postures to increase strength, flexibility and stamina in the physical body. To get the most from this class, it’s best to have some yoga experience and reasonable level of fitness. If you have any movement restrictions or injuries then it’s best to start yoga with the Gentle Yoga class.
The yoga session continues with breathing exercises which develop a greater awareness of the subtle energy in the body. We round off the class with a meditation or relaxation exercise.
I always encourage students to do some yoga at home. Regular yoga – ‘little and often’ – is the key to keeping the body and mind healthy. You can read more about the health benefits of yoga on the NHS website ‘A guide to yoga’ here
