The summer term of yoga will conclude our Myths and Legends of Yoga series, we’ll be exploring two of yoga’s most iconic postures: Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Lord of the Fishes Pose) and Padmasana (Lotus Pose).
According to legend, Matsyendra was once a fish who became enlightened simply by listening with complete attention to the teachings of yoga. His story reminds us of the transformative power of patience, openness and truly listening.

We’ll also explore the symbolism of the lotus flower, which rises from muddy waters to bloom in perfect beauty. It has long represented resilience, inner peace and our capacity to grow through life’s challenges.

As we move, breathe and relax together in our summer term of yoga, we’ll reflect on how these ancient stories continue to speak to our own lives. Like Matsyendra, we learn through listening. Like the lotus, we discover that even through difficult times, we can continue to grow and flourish.
