Rose quartz is a rosy pink variety of quartz and is one of the most popular crystals used in healing. Wearing an item of jewellery made from rose quartz is said to bestow the properties on the wearer – that is UNIVERSAL LOVE!
Rose quartz is said to restore trust and harmony in relationships – encouraging unconditional love. It is helpful to purify and open the heart on all levels and promotes love, self-love, friendship, deep inner healing and feelings of calm and peace. I wear a 108 bead rose quartz mala next to my skin during any times of discourse – for use in mantra chanting and because it comes in contact with my heart 🙂
With Christmas coming up… there may be someone in your life who could do with a helping hand in the love and peace department. I think a piece of jewellery or mala beads are the perfect way to make use of crystal healing.
It is true that you are what you eat – this is one of the principles of Ayurveda – yogas sister therapy. When you feel yourself going downhill with cold and flu symptoms pay particular care to what you eat. Orange juice will help you by providing vitamin C – this will boost your immune system. Also, try out the recipe below for ‘Spicy Tomato Soup’, it contains a fairly large dose of garlic, ginger and chilli – the garlic and ginger have powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities and the capsaicin in chillies is a natural decongestant. So move over Night Nurse and get yourself some natural food-medicine that will do you the power of good.
Spicy Tomato Soup
1 pint stock
6 fresh medium tomatoes chopped (or a 400gm tin)
1/2 tube tomato puree
1 onion chopped
1 carrot chopped
1 stick cellery chopped
2 chillis finely chopped
1/2 cm fresh ginger finely chopped
4 garlic finely chopped
1 tsp dried herbs (optional)
double cream (optional)
Bring the stock to the boil. Add all the ingredients and allow to simmer for 15 minutes. Blend with a hand blender and add boiling water to come to your desired thickness. Add a dash of double cream – this can ‘tame’ a really hot soup and can make it taste delicious.

The Bowen Technique can help with a number of conditions including neck and back pain, migraine and headaches, frozen shoulder, digestive and bowel issues, hip, knee and foot problems, respiratory conditions, sports injuries and stress to name but a few.
